ACONSP - Associação das Consulesas of São Paulo is a non-profit organization that is comprised primarily by Consulesas (a Brazilian term that refers to the wife of the Cônsul) and by women Diplomats. This organization was legally established in January of 2004, although it has been around socially for over 30 years.
The primary objectives of our Association are:
1. Welcome to São Paulo. To receive and welcome new women Diplomats and wives of Diplomats so that they feel at home and to better orient them to this big city in order to facilitate their lives, especially at the beginning of their missions.
2. Cultural Programs. We greatly emphasize the cultural aspects of being in this city by organizing cultural events, like visits to museums, fazendas, local factories and other centers that mark the culture in São Paulo.
3. Social Events. We organize several social events every year, including afternoon teas and lunches. These are either organized by the members themselves or by certain organizations/companies exclusively for the members. Almost all the events have a theme to give the events a special touch.
4. Social Projects. Being an association comprised of women, we intensely dedicate ourselves to helping the needy in the State of São Paulo. Every year we organize two major events to raise funds to donate to different institutions. In 2008, we created our own project together with the Fundo Social de Solidariedade do Estado de São Paulo (a government institution headed by the First Lady of the State of Sao Paulo) entitled ¨Visao do Futuro¨ (Vision of the Future).
